2004 Fundraising Event

The 2004 Event, held in conjunction with the Muscular Dystrophy Association , took place at Sunset Palms Estate, a private home in the Fremont hills with a panoramic view of San Francisco Bay and the surrounding hills.

The evening was generously sponsored by Balch Enterprises as the Presenting Sponsor, and TECO Pneumatic as the “Seek-A-Miracle” sponsor. Because of their generosity and donations from the community, the entire ticket price and auction receipts went toward research to cure Friedreich's Ataxia.

About 200 people attended. Tickets were $100 for individuals, and $75 for students.

The evening was magical. The Rhythm Cats band played danceable tunes from all eras.

Guests mingled, checked out the silent auction table and purchased balloons with raffle tickets inside.

Sunset lent a multicolored backdrop as the lights of the Bay cities began to glow.

The buffet dinner was followed by a magic show from Ryan Adler.

KFRC radio personality Sam Van Zandt, the Master of Ceremonies, led the program of awards to the sponsors, a speech by Philip, the results of the auction and raffle, and then turned the stage over to the band.
A lively session of dancing closed out the evening.
